2024 Library Challenge!

Create a finished project that is important to you that uses a process or project from one of our many fine library books. The challenge begins with the September meeting and will be due during the March 2025 meeting where we will show our projects and receive accolades and praise as our incentive to learn.
The guidelines:
-
Please photocopy the cover of the book or the pages in the library book upon which you rely to learn this process or to create a specific piece. Be ready to explain how you integrated the knowledge using one of our library books. Inspire guild members to utilize new ideas in our quilting; help us to thread back to the idea you have employed. If the process is tied to particular pages or chapter(s) in a book, please tell us what those are. Help guild members utilize a book to learn the process or re-create the project.
-
You may use any idea from a library book to create a new project or to employ in a project that is in progress. Your project may use a new-to-you process to execute a traditional pattern. Or, for example, your project might employ embellishment, thread painting or the alteration of fabric that you learned from one of our books. The only requirement is that you rely significantly upon one of our library books and that you share where you got the idea. The library challenge asks us to step out of our quilting comfort zones!
-
You may create a project of any size, but please make it significant. A wall hanging a full-size quilt or a piece of art that measures at least 12 X 12. The project must be fully bound and finished.
Your librarians will applaud and reward your accomplishment! If you have questions contact your librarians, Louise Rhode or Vickie Christie. Let’s get to learning!
